Breastmilk
soap is organic which make it ideal for your baby who is much more sensitive to
potential allergens and contaminants in commercial soap because we only use
natural ingredients to make it, no added chemicals. Only natural soft
oils, Lye and your breastmilk!
Super
easy to make with instructions provided.
This
kit has enough ingredients to make 2 sets of soap using this mild.
Can
make about 12-14 bars of soap (depending on how you cut)
First
of all, prepare all your ingredients. If you are getting the EarthBaby
Breastmilk kit, everything is already provided for you. All you need is an egg
beater, and some stainless steel containers and bowls, digital scales (optional), Thermometer
(optional) and of course your breastmilk. Make sure your workspace is on an
open area with no kids and pets running around. Put newspapers on your surface
area in case of lye/ NaOH spill. It’s very corrosive! Also, WEAR GLOVES at all time!
1.
Take out a pack of lye; put it in stainless steels container. (Note: please use
stainless steel container/ spoon when you handling the Lye)
2.
Shake well the oil mixture, split it into 2 portions and pour it in a bowl. Or
if you got weighing scale, measure it according to the recipe (220g of oil
mixture each time). Use only one portion for this mold. Keep the other portion
for future use.
3.
Measure your milk. For milks, it’s advisable to measure the milk, and freeze
the milk. The reason is because when lye mixes with liquid, it becomes very
very hot. So now; you don want to burn the
milk, so freeze it, put it in an iced water bath, and pour the lye in slowly.
If you have a thermometer; use it. Make sure the lye-milk solution doesn't go
above 40 degrees.
5. Mix it using an egg beater (it takes a long time before it reaches trace- pudding like consistency). Take about an hour or more.
6.
After sometime your soap will reach 'trace' it looks like pudding. This means
your oil and water has emulsified. You can now pour your soap into the mold
provided.
7.
Unmold after 24 hours, Leave it for 4-6 weeks to harden, and your soap is ready
to be used.
